Tips for flying?
I'm leaving for Disney tomorrow and a little nervous about the flight. Any suggestions on how to try to avoid any swelling, etc?
Thanks!

Re: Tips for flying?
I don't think you can really avoid swelling - but make sure you drink a ton of water it is easy to get dehydrated on the plane - maybe bring a large bottle or two on board with you - and make sure to get up and walk around as much as you can. I would also bring a snack in case you get stuck on the runway or get hungry since they don't serve food these days. That was all the advice my OB gave me when I flew to Puerto Rico when I was pregnant for our babymoon cruise.
Also if you get any sort of morning sickness - bring ginger altoids or something in case you get nauseous b.c I never get motion sickness but I had problems with it when I flew.
Enjoy your trip!!!

Re: Tips for flying?
i flew at 18 weeks and i didn't have any swelling at all! not even after walking all over san diego and san francisco i drank a lot of water and made several trips to the bathroom - that amount of walking should get you through a 3 1/2 hour flight just fine enjoy!! can't wait to see pics!

Re: Tips for flying?
well if you have read my scare i have some first hand knowledge on swelling. Try not to do to much on your actual vacation, not alot of walking...and wear a lot of sunscreen. I did a lot of walking got burnt and had turbulance on my filght and came back with a club foot. I had to be off my feet for a few days...so be mindful

EXACTLY!! I flew every week till week 34 of my pregnancy and that's what I did - wore flip flops (even in the middle of winter) and sweat pants (that wouldn't be tight around my waist), drank plenty of water, brought granola bars with me for snacks (and avoided the salty peanuts and pretzels they give you), and walked around every hour during the flight. HAVE FUN AT DISNEY!!!!!
