Otis got a Ticket!!!
We were at smithpoint yesterday my hubby was surfing so I decided to take the dog with us. He is leashed at all the time. Well we were leaving and the ranger stopped us and gave us a ticket!! $50.00 so my dog was caught riding dirty!! LOL
Just be careful

I guess dogs not allowed at Smith Point? I had no idea. They allow camping there so I just assumed they would allow pets.

What part of the beach were you on. I usually take my dog to the part by the campsites & have never had a problem before.
I know they don't want them by the main part (concession) area.

Where and why were you given a ticket?
We go there often, we go to the campsite area and on the beach with the truck and we always have our dog with us

Maybe we should do a doggy GTG there while our DH's surf, lol!

I can't believe you got a ticket!
We go there all the time with Misty and have never had a problem. We always stay east of the camping area....I thought dogs were allowed there.

Ok I was walking Otis from the middle section where the food is to the federal side down by the national seashore area and that is where hubby was surfing and I was walking back down to get him and then the ranger stopped me and gave me the ticket!! he also gave another couple a ticket too!! Such an ***. Now I guess I will stay on the county side down by the campers then. Sucks because Otis loves the beach and we are resonsible pet owners who keep him leashed and pick up after him all the time. Ok vent over I did see the signs that said no pets so I knew I was taking a chance but I figured it wouldn't start until after memorial day which alot of places do. but no the guy said March it started!
