SCPD and the LIE
Lately when I drive east out to Holbrook for practice, there's SCPD parked facing east on the side of the HOV lane and the cops are looking west standing outside thier cars with binoculars.
Anyone know why?

I don't know. It's just wierd. They are outside thier cars looking west...but its only on the eastbound side not the west.
I'll try to see why but if anyone finds out let me know. I've been meaning to ask it for a while.

Is it possible they are looking at the HOV lane to see if there are violators?
Does the HOV even go out that far?

I'm pretty sure it's to check for speeders. Next time you see one look to see if he's aiming a radar gun at the cars. That's what I usually see.

Nope. No radar gun in sight. They are physically standing on the LIE with binoculars lol
