Saying "times it" instead of "multiply"
Does that irk anyone else, or did I finally get AF today so I'm especially irritable this morning?

That bothers me too-regardless of where I am in my cycle.
I don't think I've heard an adult say that in a while though. . .

Oh, that would drive me crazy! You could be a PIA, & say, "Times it? What does that mean" Oh. . .MULTIPLY, oh--that I know how to do! "

It drives me nuts. DH is always guilty of this.
And ftr, I got AF this week too. I guess I won't be a member of the 2 under 1 club...not that I wanted to be!

You would not make it down South for a day. Every ridiculous phrase is used down here...constantly. "Just round there" excuse me but is around there to the left or right?

Do you mean when someone says 5 times 5 = 25? That doesn't bother me.

Same here. I say it too. What's the matter with it?

No, not "5 times 5", but as an instruction, as in
"then you take that number and times it by 5" instead of : "then you take that number and multiply it by 5"

Exactamundo! Not the number by the number, but using it as the mathematical term - what you'll do is take this and times each one by 2....

I will never forget when I was in HS, I worked at a mom & pop drugstore and I need more $1 dollar bills for my drawer...so I asked the know-it-all daughter to get me some "dollar bills" and she said NO I will get you some SINGLES But alas...to this day I say singles
