ok, please someone help me ID these pains....
I'm not terribly nervous about them, but they DID just begin about a week ago on and off (I'm now 18.5 weeks), and I'm experiencing them right now.
I have some minor pains on and off lately... almost like mild cramps, not intense at all... They occur in one of 2 places... Either they'll be over my left or right ovary, or they will be at the bikini line (in the middle). Basically near all parts of the pelvic bone.
Are these round ligament pains?
It's hard for me to tell if this is a normal preggo symptom, something unrelated (TMI-I've been having gas and other intestinal issues, and a couple times these pains morphed into obvious gas/intestinal cramps.), or something I should be concerned about.
I have a Dr. appt on tues.... I will tell him about them then, but if no one else really experiences these things, I may call the office early and get their feedback....
What do you think?

It sounds like round ligament pains! (especially the one by your bikini line because the area below your belly button is your uterus stretching)
Try and remain calm and take it easy. Make sure to bring it up to your doc at your next appt. just so that he knows.
Sounds like the baby is having a growth spurt.

Re: ok, please someone help me ID these pains....
yeah, I drink a lot of fluids (>3L a day), so there's no worries there... I'm not stressed about it, mainly becuase it isn't increasing in severity.
My belly DID pop within the last week or 2... so I gained a lot of bump recently... so it would make sense that round ligament pains coule be it...
I'm just 3% paranoid that they may be super-mild contractions... I think, just out of my paranoia, I will ask for them to check my cervix on tues, and confirm round ligament pains....

Sounds like round ligament pains. They knocked the wind out of me when I first got them...then scared me b/c I then wondered what contractions were going to feel like
I know you said you're drinking a lot of water...just increase it if you can. Your Dr will recommend the same thing...staying hydrated helps stave off the pain.

Re: ok, please someone help me ID these pains....
thanks... I feel better...
yeah, they're not shooting sharp pains... very dull and managable (likely due to all the water!) barely noticable, actually.
so no need for tylenol, I was mainly concerned about the origins of the pains.
I should also add.....
to everyone for responding... this board rocks! It's comforting to know my pains aren't something unique.......

I have these too. I thought it was the baby kicking until I felt actual kicking . I never got an actual name for what it was.
