When do I graduate to 2nd trimester? Confused!
I feel like the books I am reading say different things. Does anyone know for sure when we move to the 2nd and 3rd trimesters?

This is how I always thought it worked...
Weeks 1-13 First Trimester
Weeks 14-27 Second Trimester
Weeks 28-40 Third Trimester

There are so many conflicting articles on the topic. I went by the latest date. As of week 14, I entered the 2nd trimester.

Baby Zone seems to say second trimester begins at 12 weeks. I never really knew whether you enter at 12 weeks, or just after 12 weeks.

Yeah, for some reason your 2nd trimester is the longest (in weeks) out of the 3.
I considered myself out of the first trimester when I completed my 12th week. But I was probably wrong.

this is what i go by - so at 13W and 1D, i considered myself in the second trimester. at 27W and 1D, i will be in my third tri.

I was also confused so I asked my dr and she said that I am out of my first tri on May 6th (almost 14 weeks) and than out of my 2nd August 6th and than than due Nov 6th.. so that everything is nice and neat.

Most of the books I read said the 2nd trimester starts at the beginning of your 14th week.
