This is going to be TMI, but had to ask
So in the 4th and 5th week I was beyond constipated..I've hit the 6th week and I'm contantly nauseas and have become somewhat regular in the bowel movement department...Now, I have NEVER been regular in my life...I've always thought that I had IBS...but never diagnosed with it....for the past few days everyday I am going, not a lot, but still its happening...Is this normal, has this happened to anyone?????

I've always been regular. Since my BFP, I've gone from one extreme to the other. I either can't go or my stomach is really upset.

Re: This is going to be TMI, but had to ask
many of your current experiences I also had during the first trimester...
I couldn't eat any veggies or meat... they tasted HORRIBLE... I could only eat fruit, bland carbs, and dairy.
I have always been regular, and became constipated after my BFP. I read somewhere that our hormones slow down gastric motility
I'm sure your modified diet (due to food aversions) could also cause you go swing the other way and become regular.... a lot of first tri-friendly foods stimulate the intestines.....

Re: This is going to be TMI, but had to ask
hmm.. well pregnancy takes a toll on your body and even though you were not regular before.. maybe this pregnancy might just make you more regular. I was always constipated my whole life pretty much and now that Im pregnant, i have never experienced constipation at all and im SO glad!! I know that's TMI.. BUT.......maybe your body will regulate you and you will be more regular now! You just never know!

Re: This is going to be TMI, but had to ask
I have moderate to severe IBS (diagnosed)
I worried it would be worse with the pregnancy and instead its been better.
Yes, regular people go once a day (ha!)
I have NEVER gone once a day before. I didnt even know I was supposed to until the doctor made me calendar for a month and was not happy with the LACK of movements I had *shrug*
Now.. preggo and happy to say, when I gotta go, I know in advance and KNOW I'm gonna actually go and its going to be painless, normal and easy (nothing I had before)

i was pretty regular before i got my BFP - some dietary issues but nothing i wasn't aware of. since my BFP, i have no idea what will set me off and make me go a lot or not at all. it's so much fun
