Weight Gain
I'm only six weeks and have gained like 3 pounds already!!! Granted I quit smoking the second I got my BFP, but it doesn't seem that I'm eating that that much more!!! I know that it's not coming out as regularly as it used to (if you get what I'm saying) I'm retaining a lot of water, my boobs are massive, but 3 pounds in six weeks???? I'm really upset. I don't want to gain too much weight during this pregnancy, my mom was tiny during her pregnancy and I take everything after my mom..why can't genes help me out in this department

Re: Weight Gain
You will probably fluctuate, 3 pounds is nothing, and probably mostly bloat weight since you are so early. Don't worry!!!

Re: Weight Gain
I've gained 3-4 pounds in the past week or two. I blame it on the carbs. I need saltines, crackers with peanut butter, ginger snaps, etc or else I'd feel even worse. I hoped I wouldn't gain much, at least early on, but once I start feeling better, I'll try to eat healthier and hopefully walk on the treadmill. Try not to worry too much about it.

Re: Weight Gain
At my first appt I was up about 6lbs at 8 weeks! I was horrified, but had expected it cause I felt much heavier. I'm also average size (sometimes a 4, usually 6) and really really dont want to gain too much weight. I've been trying to be better since last week, but I won't let myself go hungry...I'm just trying to eat healthy. The thought of most meats these days makes me feel ill and all I want is carbs and dairy. But I have whole grain carbs and non-fat/low-fat dairy as much as possible. The dr didn't seem at all concerned with the weight gain.

Re: Weight Gain
Relax! I am sure you won't gain at the same rate the whole time so don't worry and listen quitting smoking was a HUGE accomplishment and has EVERYTHING to do with the weight gain. I am 3 years now and I gained 13 lbs. within 3 months of quitting, so give yourself some slack

They say that you should gain about 6lbs in your 1st trimester. That's about 1/2lb a week. So you're right on schedule
I'm gaining weight too and I am EXTREMELY bloated. My stomach is already starting to stick out
Best wishes
