shower anxiety?? HELP
I know my work is going to throw me a shower and for some reason I feel uncomfortable about it. I dont like to be the center of attention and I know they will sit me in the center of the room and have me open gifts... this is what I will look like. What's wrong with me?? Any suggestions on how to handle this?

This was so me for some reason too. I'm not good with being the center of attention and I'm always uneasy opening gifts...
but I have to say once I was at my shower and I was chatting with my friends and family - I felt much better and in the end it went by too fast. For me it was best to have a smaller shower... I know some people have huge baby showers... that's not me. My sister and my mom threw it at my mom's house - it was perfect. I was sort of surprised. I had no idea until about a day or 2 before b/c I had gotten sick with a bladder infection and everyone was pushing me to come over my parent's house - my family is not pushy when I don't feel well so I had a feeling something had to be up. It was cute though and I'm glad that everyone is so excited about the baby.

No problem... I think after a while you get a little tired of everyone fussing over you and I know everywhere I went people just wanted to talk about the pregnancy. I felt kind of done talking about it by that point so a whole party dedicated to it made me a little anxious.

I don't mind being the center of attention, it was the idea of accepting gifts from certain people that was getting to me. Well, they surpirsed me and had the shower and it was fine. Not nearly as bad as I expected.
I know how you feel though!

I feel that way too and don't like "making an entrance". That is why I don't like surprises! I'm hoping I can figure out when my work shower will be!

oh I'm the same way. I actually want a co-ed shower because I hate being the center of attention. I have no advice since I know my work will also be throwing me a shower and I will be feeling the same way. Just try not to think about it too much and know that you deserve it.
