Toyota Dealer
I leased my Camry from Atlantic and had an excellent experience. I know some people don't like that place, but it was great.
I went to another dealer to check out another car because I was in the neighborhood etc..DH decided he wanted the V6 Camry, great we put a deposit. We had to go so we didn't talk lease numbers yet so i said I would call tomorrow.
I called the next day and left a message for the business manager/finance person. He did not call me back until the next day. When he called I was in the middle of chaos at work and I asked him if I could call him back. He sounded annoyed and asked if I was picking up the car tomorrow. I said, if I heard from you yesterday, I would be but now I lost a day and can't get it together that quickly. I asked if I could call him later. He said yes sounding annoyed and hung up. I called him about 1pm. He was with a client and the receptionist asked if he could call me back. Sure, I left my name and work number. Didn't get a call back.
I get home and he left a message on my home number at 4pm. WT??
I called him today, giving him a chance to get my business at 11am. I left a message with my name and number. It's now 4:15 and he has not called me back. I checked the home number just to be sure this moron didn't do that again and nothing.
I think I have given this dealership all the chances I can. It's the end of the month and you would think they would want to close business.
Am I nuts or is this an avoidance tactic?
Atlantic has responded in the best possible way but I did want a comparison from another dealer. Maybe I'll call or go into another dealer just to make sure I like the numbers.
I have never had this happen before. These dealers usually shove it down your throat.

Re: Toyota Dealer
I had the same thing happen at smithtown...
I was on a waiting list for a prius in 11/06.... I waited and waited and waited... I called periodically, and the guy did nothing to try to find my black and grey car..... literally MONTHS
So I looked it up on the web, and found it within 20 min
up to Mt. Kisco I went, and came back with my new car

Re: Toyota Dealer
I have yet to have a positive experience at any Toyota or Honda dealer. even Hunt Honda wasn't that great.
they act like they're doing YOU a favor!

yep, they're pretty independent. I didn't like Huntington Honda at all and walked out of there. Atlantic has impressed me though.

Re: Toyota Dealer
In NC, it is the exact opposite problem! You go in to a dealer to ask a question and leave your number...they don't stop calling. Even after they answered your question...a month ago!

Even after they answered your question...a month ago! they harass you here too. this guy from Babylon Honda called us about 15x before he got the hint that we're not buying from him

I got my Honda from Baron Honda. Very straightforward. No haggeling we went there once and were treated very well by the Manager Domenic. but then went back again several months later and dealt with someone else who said to my DH "are you calling me a liar"? (in reference to the invoice price).
meanwhile, he conveniently never found the paperwork to back himself up we walked right out of there.

Re: Toyota Dealer
Yikes!!! I had a pretty crappy experience at the dealer in Riverhead. The guy acted like he was doing me a favor by only being a few hundred over invoice Like he was ONLY going to make a couple hundred and he had to feed his kids too. It all sounded good till I told him my DH was shopping around and miraculously he came down another $600 Needless to say I immedately went elsewhere and got a much better price!

I don't want to know what you paid - but how much over or under invoice did you pay and what kind of car did you get?
