I am sooo mad !! Disability related
Ok I am 28 wks prego and I already have 2 DD's one is 9 she is in 3rd grade and the other is 4 she is home with me all day !!
I work the night shift 9pm-1or2 am and cant fall asleep until aroun 4am then I get up at 7am with DD to get her off to school !! Well these last couple of weeks have been really rough I just cant do it anymore so I thought I would leave work early and go on disability . So I got the papers and when I went to the docs she said I cant go on disability If i leave early I did not know this and I dont know what to do b/c I just cant do this anymore I now have cankles really bad!! DH says its ok and that I should leave no matter what but I dont feel right doing it Does anyone know anything about what I can do?

Why did your doc. say you couldn't go on disability early? If your doctor is willing to certify that you unable to work (disabled) then you would qualify for NYS disability.

She wasnt very nice about it !! I told her by the end of the night I am getting menstrual cramping and braxton hicks like crazy and that I swell up so bad I can barely get ready for bed !! She just replied you wont get it now you have to stay until 2 weeks before your do date

I'm not sure why your OB go so mad, but from what I've understood, disability only pays for 6 weeks for pregnancy so if you use up your 6 weeks before the baby is born, you don't get any more $ after the baby comes. A friend of mine went out of work 4 weeks early and only got disability for 2 more weeks. What I explained in the beginning is what she was told by NYS disability -- 6 weeks regardless of when you take them. Like I said though, what does that have to do with your OB? If you're willing to go without pay, what business is it of hers?
