Need help with my hair!

I had a cut/color/highlight done in mid-December (I think). I was initially content with the cut and satisfied with the color/highlights.

The color/highlights have now grown out (badly) as well as the cut. I also have either have an abundance of new hair or breakage. AND--an influx of GRAY hairs! (Even though DH tries to convince me they are blonde ones--honey I don't grow blonde hairs anymore I am 33 not 3 )

Anyway---after much thought and consideration, as much as I would LOVE to have highlights, I know it's $$ and more maintenance than I can afford now. I have decided to go back to my natural color (which is quite visible now ).

I need a person to do it. I need someone to color my hair and COVER my grays b/c I am 33, not 73. As well, I need a new hairstyle- the last hairstyle, though nice-not easy enough for me. I am low maintenance, and this style requires blow-out w/ my particular hair type--I need a stylist who will LISTEN and do what I want. If I say "I don't want layers" I don't want someone to talk me into b/c my hair will lay flat!

Anyway.....sorry this got so long--

Can anyone recommend a salon where I can get a good cut/style and AWESOME gray covering color that won't break the bank? I live in Queens, but willing to goto Nassau, possibly Western Suffolk.

I have never been there- but I just stopped someone at the Post Office b/c her hair looked so good

she told me hair on 14th - in whitestone

I have been recommended there before- I want her cut and color- it looked that good!
