Travel Systems
What travel systems did you all register for? Do they have an extra base? I don't want to have to buy two carseats but my husband will be dropping the baby off at daycare and I will be picking it up everyday - so I am not sure how this will work. Thanks so much! Liz

Re: Travel Systems
We got the Chicco Cortina travel system and it comes with one base. Additional bases are sold for I think $69 at BRU. We bought the extra base for DH's car as well.

That is what we've done too. Nobody bought our extra base off the registry so we will get it ourselves, but I think I can find it for less $ online than in BRU.

Re: Travel Systems
I did the opposite. I was interested in the Chicco, but then switched to the Graco Metrolite... I'm very petite and my back isn't the best. I "test drove" the Chicco system at the store and my friend had me wheel her 2 kids around in a Graco stroller - Graco was definitely lighter. But I hear good things about both.
No one got us the extra base, but I'm going to wait until I go back to work to buy it. I don't think I'll be driving much the next 12 weeks with a new baby and all to deal with. I hate leaving the house now- I can just imagine dragging a baby around.

Graco Quattro Tour Travel System- Deco
And, like the others, we registered for an additional base. I also registered for the Snap N Go as I know the Quattro has a tendency of being on the heavier side.

Re: Travel Systems
on babies R us I just typed Chicco in the search and found mine..
The Chicco®KeyFit™ 30 Infant Car Seat Base features an innovative LATCH management system, easy belt routing and a spring-loaded leveling foot to make the infant car seat installation process easy. The one-pull, centrally located tightening strap has made tightening the LATCH attachment simple. The base offers wide belt routing loops with a built-in belt locking system for vehicles without LATCH. Leveling the seat is easy with a spring-loaded leveling foot and easy to read liquid level indicators on both sides of the base. This base is for use only with KeyFit™ (4-22 lbs.) and KeyFit™ 30 (4-30 lbs.) infant car seats.

We registered for the Graco metrolite stroller and car seat. We also registered for an extra base for my husbands car.
In addition we were given an extra car seat, but i'm not sure we'll use it.
From my experience, you bring the car seat in and out of places, not the baby alone out of the car seat. Did that make sense? As long as you have the extra base, you can take the car seat in and out very easily!
