Is this normal?

I didnt think anything of it until now becuse I was so nervous prior to doc appt and then was sore and upset after.

When the assistant was in the room for me and putting in information for the sonogram she asked me for my ss number and I gave it to her. Is this normal and is the number in my chart anyway? I can't remember if I ever put it down on the forms they make you fill out when you're a new patient becuase I have been going to this doctor for over 3 years

Re: Is this normal?

I know they need the # to file for insurance payment.

they usually have that info when you first go to the Dr.... and keep it in billing...

it is a tad Chat Icon that a nurse asked for that info.... what does she care about billing anything?

You're probably right.

My doc's office requires that I show photo ID and insurance card at every visit.
