Update on me
Hello ladies -
Many of you asked me to keep you updated so here is my latest..
I met again with Dr Palter and he did an SHG to get a better idea of the extent of my scarring...can we say OUCH!!
Recap: essentially i had a d&c 3 months ago and have yet to get my period, after much research and pushing on my own i went to a specialist who detemined i do have scar tissue which is blocking the cervix, preventing the blood from coming out. I am still havinng normal cycles just no AF because it is blocked. I don't want to freak anyone out..this condidtion is called ashermans and is a complication of a D&C or retained placenta after childbirth but is still very rare. They said they don't know exactly why some people develop this and most don't..so while i don't want to alrm anyone it is still really important to always trust your gut if something does not seem right after any surgery etc..
Anyway from the SHG he could see the scarring is more extensive that he originally thought =(..but he would still classify me as mild he said..he was able to break up some of the scarring with the saline so we are hoping i will get AF this month but regardless I am scheduled for a hyst/lap surgery in a few weeks where they will go in and cut the scar tisssue, look for endometrious and also put in a balloon stent for a short period of time to try and prevent rescarring. i will than have to be on estrogen for about 6 weeks and of course antibiotics..
So that is the latest..I am trying not to freak out over yet another hurdle (and more surgery..yikes).. the good news is we seem to be in good hands (through my research he was rated an a lister on ashermans sites) and we just have to take it one step at a time for now..
Thanks for all your support and wishing everyone much
