sleeping on belly
Is there a certain time you have to stop sleeping on your belly? Im 9 weeks now and I cant sleep any other way...I just always wind up on my belly. Is that ok?

Re: sleeping on belly
Yep. Totally fine. You won't be able to turn onto your stomach soon and then you'll know when you can't lay that way. I'm 13 weeks and I still lay on my tummy.

Re: sleeping on belly
I'm 22 weeks and I still lay on my belly . I sometimes have a body pillow under 1/2 of me so it props me up but many times I end up flat on my belly.

Re: sleeping on belly
I will occasionally. Eventually your doc will tell you they prefer you sleep on your left side, but you will be further along for that. My doctor still hasnt told me that and I am 23 weeks
It is getting harder for me to sleep on my stomach since my belly has popped , but I use a body pillow to sleep and wedge it halfway under my stomach so that I am not putting all my weight on my belly.

Re: sleeping on belly
I was a belly sleeper till about 20 weeks.
Then it just became uncomfortable and I stopped sleeping that way.
It's totally fine.

Re: sleeping on belly
My doctor said at 16 weeks you shouldn't sleep on your belly or back anymore. I got a pregnancy pillow at 16 weeks which originally helped me to stay on my side. Now its a lifesaver for my back and hip pain!

Re: sleeping on belly
I'm 17 weeks and still occasionally find myself on my stomach. I try to put my snoogle under my belly to give it extra support, but some nights I guess I toss it aside in my sleep. I think your body naturally will make the adjustments eventually

Re: sleeping on belly
I'm a half/belly sleeper. My most comfy position (this week) is lying on my left side with my right leg over my left so that my hips are pointed towards the bed. My upper body is still on it's side but my leg are, for the most part, flat face down on the bed.
All the while, I'm surrounded by 5 different pillows all supporting a different joint

Re: sleeping on belly
You will start feeling uncomfortable and won't be able to sleep on your tummy, that's when you should stop. I just stopped last week at 15 weeks.

Re: sleeping on belly
I asked my doctor about this two weeks ago... She said it will get to a point where I CAN'T sleep on my belly anymore and to enjoy it as long as I can!

Re: sleeping on belly
I slept on my stomach until I was about 30-32 weeks or so. It was the only way I could get a decent night's sleep. Once it became uncomfortable I stopped.
