since its tick season... read on
i've come across a preventative that is absolutely amazing. it's not only against ticks and fleas but is also a heartworm preventative as well. vets recommend this highly it's called sentinel. just wanted to share with you all. it's alot easier than giving the pill for the heartworm then putting the nasty goo on their skin. just one pill

We use this with Katie year round. She has never had a flea. Great product!

Sentinel does not kill adult fleas or ticks. It only sterilizes immature fleas.
We use Sentinel as the heartworm preventative, and frontline for fleas and ticks.
From the 1-800-PET-MEDS site:
"Sentinel Flavor Tabs are for use in dogs and puppies that weigh at least 2 lbs and are four weeks of age or older. Sentinel Flavor Tabs are used to prevent heartworm disease and to control adult hookworm infections. Sentinel Flavor Tabs are also used to remove and control adult roundworm and whipworm infections. Sentinel Flavor Tablets also contain the insect growth regulator, Lufenuron, which is used to control fleas by preventing the development of flea eggs. The medication does not kill adult fleas."

Yes, she is right, after I read the original post on Sentinel, I went on the company website and there was no mention of it being a tick repellent, and that it just sterilized the fleas on the animal.
But I didn't want to say anything to the contrary-
