I just don't get people
I hired a new cleaning woman to start today. I explained to her that tonight was a holiday and I needed to do a very deep cleaning. I was looking to use her every other week after that.
This woman was recommended to me. She called me 4 times about this job. I called her last night to confirm and she wanted her friend to come too. I told her my house was too small for 2 people to clean (plus me), but I would pass her friend's number around to my friends. SO I asked her when she will be here. She told me no later than 9. That was last night.
Well, its 10:44 and she's not here. No call. Nothing. I called her DH's cell phone (the only contact number I have for her). No answer.
What is wrong with people????!!!! How do you not show up and not call?? I have been sitting here with my DD all morning doing nothing. IF I KNEW she wasn't coming, I would have started doing the work myself at 7 am when I woke up. I would have taken my DD to the park instead of staying at home waiting for her. I just don't understand.
When my GRANDFATHER DIED- my father's father (my dad died 4 years earlier), I was supposed to start a temp job. I called, not only the agency but the office, to tell them I couldn't be there. Even when I was a teen and my job was collating papers for $3/hour, if I couldn't make it, I called.
I just don't get people.

I think that is rude, She has a responsibilty to show up if she said she was going to come and clean the house...I guess she was upset because you said No to her friend coming to help...If that is the case than she Is not Responsible...Is there a agency she works for? I would call the company up and complain about her and do not reccomend her to anyone.

Drives me crazy we have had that happen at work for interviews,and even when it's just an intern, it pisses me off for days!

People are obnoxious! I am going to agree with Ro on this one.
I'm thinking because you said "No" to her friend coming, she's thinking "Well, then, I'm not coming either"..
On the other hand, I do hope that nothing happened to her.

Is there a agency that she works for? Can you call them and tell them what happened? Or is this her own business?

I remember when I was looking for people for a respite program on the weekends, and I would be inundated with calls and emails from certain people, and then all of a sudden they wouldn't show up, or show up for one session with the kids, and then I'd never hear from them again!!!
