nyc teachers and retro
Hello ladies,
I was wondering if anyone knew when NYC teachers who are on unpaid leave and maternity would be receiving their retro pay.

I don't know since I am not on leave- maybe call the UFT and ask?
The DOE is a mess- I have worked without a break and we didn't even know for sure when we'd be getting ours. It came in our 12/15 checks, but no one knew for sure if we were getting it that day, not even our rep.

Yes I believe this is true. My SIL works in Queens and she's out on maternity leave / leave of absence and she was told she won't receive the money until she returns FT. It's total BS....she earned it and should get it. I think she mentioned that it's printed in the contract (SMALL print of course)!

Yep, I called the union about this on Dec. 16th as i am on child care leave and that's what they told me. I was so looking forward to it for Christmas shopping--oh, well....

so typical...how about people that never return? Well unfortunately I have to go back in 3 weeks so at least it is something to look forward to.
