High Blood Pressure and TTC - Repost from TTC

A quick question from all the mommy's to be!

I just got home from a Dr's appt and she told me I have a slightly elevated BP... It was 136/86... All my life I have been 114/74 approx.... Last month I had a cold and it was elevated then too... My question to you ladies is... Has anyone TTC with High Blood Pressure, and had it affected you in a bad way??? My Dr think it has to do with my weight which I'm in the process of losing but we all know how fast that goes... I am going to really start trying this summer and now I am a little concerned with getting pregnant with high blood pressure... TIA

I never had high BP before I got preggo, but I did develop it at the end of my first pregnancy, I had to monitor my BP for my 2nd pregnancy and its been low the whole time, its starting to go up now but that common at the end of the pregnancy.

I would buy a BP kit (CVS sells them) and test yourself at home once you get pregnant , your BP does tend to go up while your pregnant, you may have to go on a special diet (low sodium) to help you. I would talk to you Dr about it.
