Credit Question...
I'm a little clueless when it comes to certain things. I have always paid my bills and have always been responsible - but, I don't really know my credit score. How can I find this out AND how can I improve it? Because I know, no matter what, I'm sure there is some improving to be done.
In a year or so we are looking into buying a condo or co-op so I want to make sure everything is the way it is supposed to be and that there are no surprises lol - ya never know! A woman in Phoenix could be using my alias to charge up the world lol!
Any tips/advice?? Thank you!!!

Re: Credit Question...
First, I would go to annualcreditreport.com (it's free) and pull your credit report to check and see what is on it. You can dispute anything through the site as well. You will not, however, be provided your credit score. You will have to pay for that.

what if something is on it?
like, a charge i never even knew about - i can dispute it but what if it is a charge i made and totally forgot about or the notices slipped through the cracks - i'm always so scared this is going to happen to me b/c i'm kind of naive about this stuff... can i just go and pay it if i have to and then will it come off?
this is so foreign to me

If something is on it, you can dispute it. They will then do an investigation. If it's something you may have let slip through the cracks, you can contact the company directly to see if they'll allow you to pay and give you a pass, but chances are that they won't. If it were that easy, everyone would default on their accounts and then call to amend.

No problem! Good luck! remember you should pull your report more frequently! we try to do it every 6-12 months.
