Have you ever been involved in a hit and run?

I have. Today. While I was inside work, someone hit me. And they left me with a huge dent in my bumper.

I have had my car for 3 years. I've been rear ended 3x, my sister backed into my drivers side door and now this. Please take note that none of these are my fault. I have no luck.

A few times....Once I came out of Target and someone had slammed into the back of my truck so hard they cracked and dented the whole rear bumper.

My car was hit out side my house at 3am.. a month after i just made my final payment.

My car alarm went off, my father saw no one around, and saw my back passenger hub cap came off car. So he went out and looked at it. The ENTIRE drivers side and rear of car was demolished. He yelled for me to call cops. My dh took off and drove neighborhood b/c they always stop and look a there car within a few feet of accident. He turned onto a main road and saw 3 cop cars surrounding another car. He went over to it and said "hey stupid you hit my wifes car".. the cops asked if he was from my address and told him to step back they will handle it. I was amazed the cops got her right away.

I found out later she also hit anothe car on another block and took off too. She also told the cops she waited outside and no one came out of house.. BULL POOOP.. my alarm hadnt finished going off before she left. She also was a sister of a cop and they police fudged the police record. We made some calls and found were she lived and demanded her ins. info. The DA also called me and took her to court. Im hoping her license was taken away.

I heard she had a few other prior things on her record also

That's horrible. Especially considering it was someone who works near where you work - if not WHERE you work! It's so disappointing that people don't tell you they did it. UGH.
Does your place of work have cameras in the parking lot/garage?
Good luck - this can be really annoying but it apparently happens a lot. In our small parking lot where I work someone has hit me once and one of my friends twice - and doesn't say ANYTHING.

yes, I was hit by an 18 wheeler (without the flatbed, just the cab part of the truck) on route 110 right in front of the mall. The ******* hit me on the right front panel, forcing my car sideways and then proceeded to push me with his truck while my car was going sideways for about 200 or so feet. I thought that was the end for me

the scariest thing ever....he then took off

My car withstood most of the impact and I was fine. the car had over 6,000 of damage

We just moved into this building. And its not even my real job. I was just helping them unpack from moving. It's a guy we used to share an office with. I don't think there are any cameras. I'm waiting to get intouch with the landlord. I spoke to the landlord of the bbuilding next door because I saw they have a camera but it doesn't cover our side of theb uilding. I'm so ******

Yes, I came out of WalMart one day to a huge scratch on my back bumper. Luckily, the car parked next to mine had a very similar scratch in the very same area
I called the Police and they were pretty convinced that was the car. I got the insurance $ for it.

But, not knowing who did it...? Oy - where to start?
Does your office have cameras? Can you post a flyer looking for info? Maybe that person will come forward on guilt. So sorry

Yes!! Dh was parked on his street in Brooklyn on Cinquo De Mayo. His neighbor had a party. Someone slammed into his car causing tons of damage. He woke up to the damage.

Thankfully, a neighbor saw what happened and told him. So he went to house who had the party and told the parents. They got him the name of the person who did it, and DH got the money for the repairs from their insurance.

I don't know how people can live with themselves and do something like this.

Not me, but my mother was.. She was almost killed The car saved her life, b/c it was so well built.

The girl got a slap on the wrist. she didn't even have a license. Total fines were less than $500 (this was out of state)

yes, ugh what a pita. this lady hit me while i was driving to work. we both pulled over, she looked at me then drove away. i got her license plate though and made a report. she tried saying that i was the one that left the scene. um, okay - then how did I make a police report and she didn't? dumbazz

I got rear ended on Jericho Turnpike and they left and I called the cops and they said there was nothing they could do about it...

I think I have the same exact car as you!! And mine is three years old too.

I'm sorry. That is awful! Once when my dad was driving someone hit us and drove away. We followed him and got the license plate number and then went to the police station.

Omg, I'm so sorry!!!!!!! How inconsiderate!!

I know it's tough to see the silver lining, but just be glad you weren't in the car and no one got hurt.

I was!!!! I was stopped at a red light when a guy in a small pick up truck hit me from behind. I got out of the car, called the police and asked him if he wanted an ambulance. As soon as he realized I was on the phone with the police, he sped off. I read off the license plate to the dispatcher but they did absolutely NOTHING for me.

yes. I came off the train from work and found my bumper laying in the parking lot. The guy ripped it right off the car.

That stinks! And people suck! I was in a walmart parking lot once and watched this huge-a$$ truck attempt to back into a tiny parking spot and proceeded to hit the car next to him, taking the side mirror with him. Of course he took off.

Yes a long time ago, I had my license about a month and was driving down a street. Some kid just pulled out and hit the side of my car, I stopped but he just took off.

my car seems to get hit all the time on the street - I am always finding new dents and paint marks

the joys of living in NYC and not having a spot!
