Lead story on 6:00 news was.........
about a jersey being buried under the new yankee stadium dh said, that's a lead story. there's other important things going on in the world that should make a lead story

not in the US, there isn't 
I've given up on all news reports from our country.... they're all tabloid and ratings based.... you won't hear anything about stuff going on in africa, the eu, or asia... but if hillary farts or obama says something that can be twisted, well THAT's 10 days of nonstop coverage

nope.... kenya just resolved a major long-term political crisis by compromising and sharing power in its cabinet, the world bank is worried about rising food costs, 2 small bombs went off in the phillipines, and iran's nuke talks with the UN have been postponed....
problem is the network and cable news doesn't care about any of this

I'd rather that then their typical opening story about rape and murder. The media in NY has a way of always making us feel unsafe. When you go out of state the opening stories are usually about something happy going on in a town. In NY it's usually a rape, murder, kidnapping, sexual predator, etc. So is it as important, no, but at least it's a lighthearted story.

The only thing I find sad about that, is that dh told me about this yesterday, or the day before...doesnt really make it news if we already know, but on the good side, that means that there were no major murders, or disasters,pr anything like that and thats kind of refreshing

The story about the jersey being buried broke a couple of days ago but they only removed it today.
