Young Frankenstein...
was a total disappointed DH & iwent today and though we had a great day in the city, we were less than thrilled with the play. Bummer since we loved "The Producers."

Have you seen the movie? How did it compare to that? I love the movie. I'd hate to think that they butchered the movie to put it on the stage...

It's one of DH's fav movies - he was disappointed. On the other hand though, Spamalot the play is great (in our opinion)

I saw the show also and thought it was horrible. It was the movie WORD for WORD. I was expecting something much closer to Spamalot, which I think was the best show i've ever seen. The YF movie was brilliant but it made for a very bland stage show.

I had never seen the movie before. I saw the show and thought it was great. I did see the movie two days after and agree that it was word for word. They did add some things (like the roll in zee hay bit). I would recommend it just on the fact that it was a great show. Great stagework, costumes. A lot went into it.

My DH would agree. I love Broadway and go often but can only drag DH when it's Mel Brooks or Spamalot related
