EBAY MOTORS QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
I am posting from work as a favor to my brother...
he has listed his motorcycle for sale on Ebay Motors, with a reserve price. We just got a "question" from a potential buyer, asking "Howmuch are you looking for to end the auction early? What is the reserve?"
We put on the listing that is also for sale locally...
What would you do to answer this question?
THanks in advance for any responses!!!

Re: EBAY QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
OK, you CAN give him a price of what you are looking to get. Make sure the sale still goes through eBay and PayPal so you are protected
IF there are no bids yet, you can edit the listing and add a "Buy It Now" option for the guy to buy it and end the auction early

Re: EBAY QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
Thanks!
However, my brother does not have an option for BUY IT NOW and he has only sold 4 things on EBAY so far.
How would we end an auction early then?

Re: EBAY QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
If you go into the listing and click "edit" you should be able to add a Buy It Now (as long as there are no bids...)
If you want to end the auction early, you can do a search on how to end the listing. It will walk you through ending it.
But, IMHO, DON'T end the auction until the guy buys the bike and you have the $$ in your hand.
The SAME thing happened to me. I sold a motorcyle on eBay years ago. A guy asked me to end the auction and he would come by the house and buy the bike. He was a no-show and I had to pay to re-list the bike again

Re: EBAY QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
Ok, we have 7 bids already
However, we have gotten a ton of people sending in questions to find out what the reserve is set at?
Isn;t a reserve usually listed to be the lowest price you will accept? Is it normal for people to ask what the reserve is,and do you always give it out?
I have bid on things and have sold things on ebay with reserves, and I have never asked what the reserve was set at, and have never had anyone ask me what mine was set at..
Just wondering how to address these questions...
THanks!

Re: EBAY MOTORS QUESTION---PLEASE HELP!
You can tell him that you can't end the auction early now b/c there are bids. If you feel comfortable telling him the reserve, then tell him. He probably wants to know it to see if he thinks it is reasonable to pursue this auction. If you don't feel comfortable you could respond with a vague answer or not at all, but you might lose a potential bidder. Why would you keep the reserve a secret from him?
