Next concern... what the heck is Strep B and where did I get it?
So after the whole Heparin drama - my doctor calls and said there was the Group Strep B in my urine and now one more thing for me to remember to tell the hospital when I go into labor - I have to be on antibiotics when I deliver?
What the heck is this and how did I get it? DH was joking that I got some STD, but seriously, we are wondering where it came from? Doctor said it was a small amount so there's no need for immediate treatment. I was so caught up in the Heparin nonsense I didn't really get the whole Strep B thing. The only Strep I ever had was Strep throat.

I just know that its a bacteria that can be transferred to the baby if your not treated with antibiotics I also have it and I had it with DD#1 and she was fine ! Its not much to worry about

It's a naturally occurring bacteria that is carried by about 30% of the population. I tested positive for a small amount as well. My Dr. wasn't too concerned.

Eveyone has it. Some have "more" then others. All docs send your medical "chart" to the hospital before you deliver, so all your reports are there. They should know your are pos. when you get there. One less thing for you to worry about.

dont worry about this, they give you medication for this and the baby will not get it when you deliver.

i had/have it, I didn't even get a chance to get all the antibiotics in me before DD was delivered and she was still fine.

I had it with DC#1 and they just gave me an antibiotic drip when I went into labor and with the rest of my pregnancies, I wasn't even tested for it but given an antibiotic drip for each labor just to be safe.
