I have a question, why is a flip OK but a lift is not?

Yeah, those kids were amazing! DH even said, don't get any ideas for DS 
I know the lifts aren't allowed. Mario did a flip and the judges didn't say anything. Was that allowed?

I BELIEVE flips are allowed because they are done solo.
Lifts aren't allowed because they are "assisted" (need a partner).
Don't know why the discrimination, but I vaguely remember the judges saying this a few seasons ago.

i think it depends on the dance. mario was doing the paso doble and priscilla was doing the watz.
