Re: What is a co-sleeper?
a co-sleeper kinda connects to the bed like this:
while a bassinet is more of a stand-alone piece:

Re: What is a co-sleeper?
It's kind of a way to have the baby sleep in your bed and be at an arms lenghth without actually sleeping in your bed. I heard it very good for moms who are BFing and mom's who had C-sections because it's easier to get the baby.

never thought of that... that's true.. that WOULD be a lifesaver for moms recovering from a c-section!

Re: What is a co-sleeper?
I used one with both my boys and it was great. Even if you don't BF, it's nice to have the baby so close when they wake up every 2-4 hours. You don't have to connect it to the bed, you can raise the arm. It's much sturdier than some bassinets and sits like a pack 'n play.

We are using one now and LOVE IT. Amazon.com had it on sale and my mom bought it for us.

Re: What is a co-sleeper?
As pp said its a "bassinet" that can connect to the side of the bed. My sister is on baby number 3 and swears by it.
It won't work for us because of the type of bed we have and the fact we have Peanut our Pomeranian who sleeps in bed with us.
