Stroller shopping

I have been to BRU a couple of times now. I am planning on registering on Tuesday. The selection of strollers online is huge but I feel like they don'e have that many in the store. How do you decide? Am I better off at BBB? I am having stroller anxiety at the moment. Like how many do you need?

I am guessing a fullsize one that the carseat can snap into- (are lightweight and convenience the same? I am have seen both terms) and then a lightweight one. Is it rude to register for a lightweight one for like the spring when we go for walks?

Re: Stroller shopping

I checked on BRU and went to consumer reports and see which got the best ratings.
I decided on a full size stroller too, I wasn't sure if I was going to register for a lightweight one too

Re: Stroller shopping

You can ask the store if they will order it for you and put it on your registry. Sometimes they do not have all of what they carry on display. BBB said they would do that for us. They do not have the color of the stroller we want but said they would order it for us.

Re: Stroller shopping

I was overwhelmed by strollers at first too. We went with a travel system (chicco) and a maclaren quest. I don't think it is bad to register for both!

I have heard great things about the Snap & Go abd so many woman who get the whole travel system/huge stroller, then never use it.

We registered for the Snap & Go, which holds the baby in the car seat for up to 1 yr. Then we got a lightweight stroller for after that. It still has the storage on the bottom, which is what I wanted.

We got all of this at BRU.

Here are mine:

The first two I tried out in BRU. I LOVE the travel system. It is very comfy and easy to use. I do not think this one is bulky at all. I registered for both of them and got bother.
The jogger I found on sale at Target, so I bought that one without even trying it. For some reason it was 50% off at my Target when it is still full proce online. HTH!

ETA: I also registered for and received the snap and go to use with the infant car seat.

Re: Stroller shopping

At the time I registered I didnt like any of the Travel systems available, and I didnt want a big Graco quattro tour (just my preference)

I went with the snap and go which is amazing! And a peg perego which DS loves. Ask the sales people for their opinions. I was going to get a Metrolite and while I was there 2 mothers were getting new strollers to replace their metrolites and both said they "fell apart on them" the Sales person said tehy get alot of that.

I didnt go with a lightweight umbrella type stroller as I wanted to wait to see what I would need and when. I figured that was something I would buy when the time came. And I dont jog so I didnt need one of those.

DH said that stroller shopping was more difficult than buying a car!Chat Icon

Re: Stroller shopping

this is PRECISELY why I'm also registered on amazon.

It's soooo difficult to shop for a stroller, and there are thousands out there...

BRU and BBB only have a handful Chat Icon

My advice is to read through the baby bargains book. their stroller section is HUGE and very thorough. That is how I decided which features we need, and which we don't.

In the end, we decided on the bumbleride indie... it's an all terrain since sidewalks in our town are bumpy and we'd like to roll about on grass and gravel with ease....

Re: Stroller shopping

I took my "Baby Bargains" book with me as I was registering at BRU. I registered for the Chicco Cortina Travel System in Sahara. I just fell in LOVE with it and it was rated very well, especially the carseat/carrier which is considered one of the best.

I would recommend looking at the safety and recall ratings and then try a bunch out to see what feels comfy to you and what will work for your needs. It seems overwhelming at first but I found once I just started trying them out I was able to eliminate a lot right off the bat and it really didn't take me that long to make a choice. Good luck!! Re: Stroller shopping

BRU didn't carry any of the strollers I considered. I got mine at a different store. I went with the BOB Revolution 12" and the Graco Snugride snaps right into it.
