When to go to the salon?
Hi girls! I recently cut my hair short (about a month and a half ago). I think the style has grown out and I definitely have roots now since I went red.
I am going to Punta Cana next week - my cousin is getting married - and I was thinking of going to the salon and getting it cut and dyed again - but I am worried about the sun, beach and pool making it look a different color.
Should I get it done now or when I get back? I also have a wedding later this month so I want it to look good for both. Thanks!

Everytime I go away, my hair color lightens and I find that I want a trim when I get back from all the salt water and sun damage. If you want to get a trim before going to maintain the style cut you just got, maybe do that, but I'd wait and color once you return.

Definitely wait until you get back- the sun, salt and chlorine will alter the color.

I guess I am in the minority, but I would go pre-vacation.
I like the way the sun makes my hair lighter though.
I also would hate to look at vacation pics and wish I had done something to my hair before hand.

I would go before also. I love having fresh hair for vaca!
Tell them you are going away, and they can probably give you a treatment for your hair, or put an extra sealent on it.
If you are worried about it getting light in the sun, then maybe go 1/2 shade darker than normal.

Oh boy - split vote huh? I really am dying to cut it so bad. I was thinking today though it may be advantageous to have it longer so I can put it up. I'm so confused

i would wait till after vacation. Even though it will be nice to have your hair done prior...the sun and water, etc could ruin your color.

Get the cut before you go. Color when you come back.

You are like my hubby Libra also!! I say get it done before hand I'm in the same boat got my hair cut short and I'm due again to keep up with it and going away in two weeks! So next Tues I'm getting it cut and colored before I go!!! Just do it now.
