Medication
If your doctor prescribes you medication if you are not feeling well do you call your OBGYN to make sure its ok or do you just take your doctor's word for it?

as long as my dr knows that i am pregnant, i take the medication prescribed.
my own OB told me that they don't always know what medications are okay to take during pregnancy, and which aren't... the "specialists" like the dermatologist or the GP will sometimes know better than them.

I'm neurotic (and also a pharmacologist), so I would ask BOTH, and then triple check by looking it up online myself

My brother's gf is a pharmacist....sometimes they are better than doctors!! So, I run it past her to make sure she doesn't know of any problems.
She has told me a few times that some drugs I took-non pregnant- were a waste and the doctor should have prescribed something better etc.

Well, the one time I went to my GP because I was feeling under the weather he refused to give me a prescription.
I went to my midwife and got a Z-Pak 
Yes, I would probably consult with my OB/midwife if I was prescribed something just to be safe.
