My brothers fiancee's bridal shower
The bridal shower is this Sunday, last week I contacted the moh (since she hasn't contacted me) and tried planning some fun stuff for the shower....well she shot down every one of the ideas except for one....today she sent out an email saying shes not doing that one either. I got annoyed and said "Ok I'll go with anything at this point, just let me know what you want me to bring on sunday", her reaction was "just bring the lingerie on sunday, I'll take care of everything else, thanks"
I am so upset!!! I really wanted to be a part of the day for my brothers sake you know... and she is like a bridesmaid nazi!

i know you want to help, but traditionally the shower is given by the bride's family and friends, so she may feel that she has more control over thigns if she doesn't allow too many people to participate   try and have fun anyway!!

a good friend of mine just went thru this when her brother got married. the BP was mostly the bride's sisters & cousins---and my friend was a BM also--but for some reason they seemed to have an attitude of "yeah its OUR sister/cousin's shower -- why are you getting involved?" they didn't tell her where the shower was being booked until the invites went out and even got nasty about inviting some members of the groom's family.
sometimes the best thing is just to offer--they don't take your help--oh well....at least you tried!

Same thing happened to me with my SIL's shower. I was pretty upset too, my brother and I are close and I wanted to help out.

I understand it's for the bride, but the moh isn't getting anyone involved, she's doing it herself....pretty much the only thing she planned was having the BM's each bring one pc of lingerie and she'll wrap it all together and she wants to give out recipe cards and have people fill them out at the shower with their favorite recipe....thats it! Boring! And who knows a recipe from the top of their head anyway?? I sure as hell don't!

If you are in the BP than I think you have the right to participate and offer suggestions, etc. That is totally ridiculous and unfair. Maybe you do a girls day out with just you and her after the shower.

My sister and I went through the same thing with our brother's wedding. It's a no-win situation. All I can suggest is that you continue to offer support and suggestions that way no one can say you didn't try to help.
Hang in there, if you're already up to the shower, it's almost over!!!

I would bring some game or something anyway. For my SIL and also one of my friends, we put not cards at every setting and the guest wrote a piece of advice. The card were collected and then given to the bride and groom when they left for their honeymoon to read them.

Adrianna did this for my shower (she was one of my bm) and I LOVED reading them on the plane to our honeymoon!!!

I would do something anyway. you can make a "movie night" basket for them (from you and hubby). or a personalized collage/frame of pics of them.
i would do what you WANt to do, you dont need her permission, esp if she's acting this way!
we made several baskets for our SILs. from the kids, from us, one with my SILs favorite colors/ a "girlie" basket, etc.

I bought a shadow frame and am making a nice collage of their wedding invitations (they have 2, one from the wedding here, and the wedding in Europe) and I'm getting them a couch they want
