anyone on metformin/glucophage??
If so how long does your dr. plan on having you take it throughout this pregancy?? I am a high risk now (lost baby at 23 wekks in aug) and the high risk dr. wants me to stop soon (i am 9w3d). I am not sure what to do b/c i have heard so many great things about metformin for woman who lost a pregnancy far along and ones who have pcos (which I have). any info is appreciated, i am so confused!!

I took it until the doctor confirmed my PG, through bloodwork, not even the sono, around 6 weeks. I did not have a prior miscarriage, but I have to trust the doctors in their decison when they know everything.

I stayed on Metformin until they saw the heartbeat which was at 6w5d. After that I stopped it and so far everything is going well. (I am 14wks along)

I was on it through the first trimester. Been off of it for 5 weeks now.

I have PCOS but have not had a miscarriage - I was on it thru my 1st trimester - I believe studies have shown that keeping you on it thru your 1st trimester can lower the risk of miscarriage. I would talk to your doctor and do what both you and your dr are comfortable with.

thanks ladies for your feedback!! I thought you were sopposed to take it till the end for pcos but i guess the drs are right and not me. happy and healthy pregnancies to us all!!!
