I'm so mad....and kind of sad LONG

Today was supposed to be my 12 week appointment. I don't know if any of you remember my other post about how I LOVE my doctor but HATE the office girls. I was considering switching doctors when I was 4 weeks but I decided I liked my doctor too much. Fast forward to today. My appointment was set for 2:00. I got there about 5 minutes early, signed in and sat down. There was only one other woman waiting when I got there. So I sat, and sat, and sat some more. At 2:30 I decided to ask the girl at the desk WTH was going on, when were they going to call me. Here is how the conversation went:

Me: Um, I have been waiting for 30 minutes. When am I going to be called?

Girl: Um, the doctor isn't here today.

Me: Then why did you let me sign in, and sit here waiting for 30 minutes?

Girl: Uh.....let me get the other girl.

Other girl: Um.....I called and left you a message this morning at ***-7235.

Me: That isn't my phone number, and you guys KNOW that. I have been coming here for this and my past 2 pregnancies.

Girl: Well, would you like to reschedulke for 2 weeks from now?

Me: No. Bye.

I am so sad I like my doctor but that is unacceptable to me.Now I have to find a new doctor at 12 weeks along.

oh WOW. that is totally unacceptable... i am sorry that happened to you! i hope you call your dr and tell him/her why you left.

i know a great practice in bellmore if you want a recommendation.

I m so sorry. I switched at 8 weeks so I know how u feel! Where do u live...maybe everyone on here can give u great recommendations.

aww.. well i went through this type of thing before and Im sorry I didnt change sooner. I loved my doctor, my DH loved him too and the office staff was rude.. the girls at the front desk were just awful and its hard b/c you have to go through them be4 you get to the dr. So, i was constantly leaving messaged for the doctor on some serious incidents during the pregnancy and nobody returned my call..even when i said i was in the ER. It was very difficult getting answers and just simple questions answered when i was not physically at the office. Well, weeks went by.. the first incident was at about 6 weeks pregnant and im now 28 weeks and I FINALLY got a new dr. whom I meet tomorrow actually. So, I gave the office a chance and more than 4 chances in fact and they just didnt give me what im looking for.. just some phone call returns.

Sorry to blab, but id hate to see you go through what I went through and hesitated in changing dr's.. so while you are feeling this, you should probably look into someone else. My dr. was my gyno for the past 10 years too who would have delivered my baby and i was pretty upset to be leaving, so I do understand where you are coming from. Goodluck with it all!!! Wow, I would be totally pi$$ed too. I dont care how much I like the dr. I wouldnt go back either. What is next...missing test reports or things like that. Sorry JMHO but I think you should find a new doctor. There are plenty of girls here that love their OBGYN.
I love my doctor and his office and entire staff. He is wonderful and I highly recommend him. He is in North Babylon. Here is his info if you are interested

i requested my records and my dr. never even called to see why i was leaving and get this- they faxed the records to the WRONG OB office..talk about seriously messing things up!

I'm sorry but I would absolutely leave this doctor. I'd practically make back to back appts for the same day with the old and new doctor just so I could have a face to face with my old doc and let him know how disappointed I am that I had to leave.

I am sorry you had to be dissapointed. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about the staff, that is probably something he or she would want to know!

That is insane you really need to switch doctors and you should also write a letter of complaint to your old doc.
