Recommend your jeweler please
I am looking for a reputable jeweler where my DH & I can build a relationship with & buy ALL of our future jewelry from.
When my DH bought my engagement ring he bought it from KAYs. Long story short, although I LOVED my ring, it was defective & we had to exchange it for a new one about 4 months after DH proposed. We were not able to return it because it was over the 3 months since DH had bought it. He waited about 4 months to propose after he actually bought the ring.
Anyway, We both feel like he was taken advantage of as many people are by going to these chain jewelry stores. And I also feel like the salespeople are only there to make a sale. Especially around the holidays. They have horrible customer service after the sale is complete.
I just want to find a jeweler where we can go shop for something we want/need without being pressured & hounded by crazy sales people looking to make their commission for the month. I want to be able to get good quality & reasonable prices...
So please share your experiences with your jeweler & where they are located. I live Suffolk, but willing to travel into Nassau if necessary.
ETA: NYC is an option too!
TIA!

Our favorite jeweler is Weiser Jewelry in the diamond district in NYC. We've made a few major purchases from them (including my e-ring and both of our wedding rings) and we've always been VERY happy. I also feel, after shopping around, that their prices are VERY competitive.

Marlowe Jewelers in Howard Beach, Queens I buy all of my jewelry from them as does my whole family. They've been around a long time and have BEAUTIFUL stuff. They can pretty much custom make anything too! I designed my e-ring by drawing it out and they made it perfectly!!!! I also bought DH a ring when we were dating (over 8 years ago) and it was destroyed!! I brought it to Marlowes and asked them to take out the stones (channel set diamonds and sapphires) and make a brand new band in white gold (old one was yellow) and I can't tell you how gorgeous this ring is! DH is in love with it!

We use Van Chion Jewelers in Huntington. I absolutely LOVE their selection (he has a lot of one of a kind things). DH & I got our wedding rings from him (as well as my e-ring), and each piece of jewelry he has bought me since we got married has come from there.

My husband and his family have been going to Gennaro's for years. They are amazing. They have beautiful jewelry, make the most gorgeous custom designs and are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Any repair I have had done, they have done in front of me. The repairs are done in a small area with glass windows so that you can watch every step of the way. They are truly reputable.
