TENS Machines...a recommendation
I have been meaning to post about this for ages, and thought I would do it now.
So I want to reccommend one of these TENS Machines to help you get through your labor and its a great little aid to help if you want to try giving birth completely naturally. I had a 3 day induction and I used a TENS Machine throughout the whole thing and it was a lifesaver. It delivers electric pulses to pressure points on your lower back during labor and when you have a contraction, you can press a boost button and they really help to get your mind off of the contraction you are having. Here in the UK its pretty common for pregnant women to rent these and use them, they are great.

I guess the thinking is different here. I don't know about using a TENS machine during labor but I was told not to use it during pregnancy. I think it is because the electric impulses can have an effect on the baby's heart rate.

Thats right, you can't use them during pregnancy, but you can in labor.
