You go outside to sit on the deck and enjoy the silence...
and a man drives by on his tractor. The nearest farm is 10 minutes away by car and he was just driving thru the development. I wonder where he was going?

I was at the outlets yesterday and crossed the parking lot. there were no cars anywhere near me and suddenly this little old lady speeds up and nearly hit me with her car

You know you're not in NY anymore when all you want to do is go to the store and buy some milk and you get sucked into a 20 minute conversation with the checkout person and there is a line forming and no one tells you to hurry up!!!!

Yep, lol. The people at the Starbuck's here won't shut up neither will the lady at Walgreens. The teenage boys who work at the supermarket always insist on helping me to the car. The first time I whipped out my mace in case they were going to try anything funny.

Reminds me of a bank robbery by the rural school I work at. The guy robbed the bank and then drove away on his 4-wheeler.
Note: he proceeded to park his 4 wheeler outside his house - the cops caught him.

Here's how it finally hit me that I didn't live in NY anymore:
I was driving home from work on one of the wind-y country roads--and all of a sudden a little black pig runs out in front of my car! He's someone's pet!
I do get a big kick out of stuff like that, though. The tractor thing is great!!!
