I HATE CHANGE
sometimes...
called the dr this morning to make him call me a prescription in for lupron so it'd be ready and waiting to ship on monday when MY dr gave me the ok.
This dr took it upon himself to call my dr and now all of the sudden i am going from starting the protocol for another medicated IUI to taking yet another month off while using birth control pills to supress my ovaries!!?!?!?!? WTH!!?!?!?!?? They couldn't have come up with this genious idea LAST month when they had me on a forced break?
I'm beyond annoyed right now- they're stopping me before i even get to start...

i know you like your dr but without an explanation i would NOT be okay with this... i would be searching for a new RE. to me it is completely unacceptable to make decisions like this without even consulting you first. plus, you're right - this could have been done last month when you were on a forced break anyway. i am sorry

I have to agree with this. I know you've seen a lot of doctors, but maybe this one isn't right for you...

Thanks- I really like my dr...he is usually very team oriented when it comes to my say. i have a feeling this is all the senior partner's doing- and when I have it my way (which I will unless I have to start the BCPs before my drs appointment first thing monday AM) this WILL change. I know they're looking out for my best interest b/c of the OHSS last time but I only had 2-3 follicles become mature--- so it's not like I had 10 or something from the meds... if that were the case then I could understand this.
Someone on my other board said she's taking the BCPs for 10 days or something--- not an entire month. I would have been fine doing this in conjunction w/ the gonal-f/ovidrel-- but not making it a 2 month procedure. If that's the case I'd just as soon try another month of just gonal-f and ovidrel.

My IVF protocol was 10 days of BCP and Lupron. I started Lupron 3 days after starting the BCPs, and stopped taking the BCPs 7 days later. I don't see why they couldn't have you do it that way.
ETA: I also think they should have had you on BCPs during your forced break as well.

This is what I thought they were going to have me do- this is what the other person I know using a different dr (she lives in CA) is doing for her IUI protocol.

ITA about the BCPS on your break! Whats up with that??? FWIW my RE says that the amount of time you are on BCPs is relative to the lab schedule for ERs and such. They keep you on the BCPs the amount of time needed to fit you in. But I agree with the other ladies, I know you like you Dr but if he is going to change his opinion and the course of action that BOTH you and he agreed upon based on a conversation with another Dr I would really lose respect/regard for him as a physician.

I haven't spoken to my dr since I saw him in Jan...so he and I haven't agreed on anything yet- this is all the other dr's suggestion. Last time I saw him was to check on my ovaries which at the time were still too large.
I've been dealing w/ the other dr since i came back- my last 2 appts have been w/ him b/c my dr has been sick w/ pneumonia.
I've decided that I'm going to continue to be persistant and call my dr on Saturday- that's the first time he'll be back in the office since he's been sick. So I'll have to see what he says then and hopefully AF won't show before then--- I'll wait until the night to finish my last provera on thursday so hopefully AF won't come until Saturday later in the day or Sunday.
