Gas: This has probably already been discussed
I was smart when shopping for a car - I made sure I got something that takes 87 octane.
DH on the other had takes a minimum of 91 (I rarely see 91 at the station). Anyway I have been driving his car the past two weeks and notice how expensive it is to fill.
Do you put 93 in or 87 even though it is supposed to take premium?

When I had a car that took a higher octane I only put in the mid octane. I'll never own another high octane car again. It does add up.

Put whatever the owners manual says to put in.
If it says 91 or 93 is REQUIRED... then put it in.
If it says its recommended... but it will run on 87... then you probably have a choice. But if you put 87 in that situation... you will probably lose performance.
