I can make you thin...
Anyone else watching this? It just started and I'm curious to see what "amazing revelations" this guy will come up with... I mean, I'm not looking to lose weight or anything I'm just wondering what HE has to say that can be so different and new??
Anyone else watching/wondering??
ETA: now that it is over - what do we think??

Re: I can make you thin...
So far, I'm not buying it. Empty the fridge of things you don't like? All I'd have would be ice cream, cookies, cake, brownies and pizza. And, soda for DH.
ETA: #1??? #2 Eat what you want, not what you think you should #3 Eat consciously (focus on the food, chew 20 times, utensils down)

Re: I can make you thin...
I see what he is saying - I have been saying this to people my whole life... eat things that you want - but in moderation. Because if you don't eat the things you crave from time to time you are going to go insane and then binge on them at other times and gain. So, he is basically saying to allow yourself the foods you want when you want them - BUT - and this is very important - eat it slowly and consciously... That way, that signal that goes to your brain to say "I'm full" can get there - if you woof food down the signal doesn't have time to get there. If you eat things one bite at a time and take time to chew and savor - you will feel fuller sooner and you won't "over eat"... I've done this for years. BUT one thing I did learn is to *NOT* starve yourself -- not that I really do but I will go during the day with just having some water so then I can eat a meal at night - I can usually do it fine but it isn't the ideal and best way to go about things - I'm better off eating something when I'm hungry - otherwise your metabolism slows anyway.
And what he meant by throwing the diet crap out is b/c most of that stuff is artificial and not good for you anyway.

#1- when you're hungry - eat.
it just slows your metabolism more if you do that b/c your body goes into "panic mode" thinking it is being starved.
and number four is when you feel that signal of "i'm full" reach your brain - STOP - and I always try and do this -- it takes self control but I always make sure something is left on my plate... it works

Re: I can make you thin...
i caught the end of this and i do agree with what he said, its alot of common sense but people don't do it, so many people shovel their food down and of course finish their plate, i told dh for one week no tv during dinner, i can do it but this is a major thing for him, i will watch it next week
