WWYD? re: freecycle

Someone was supposed to come by this evening to pick up some furniture we're giving away. We arranged it yesterday that she would come with a truck around 6pm today.

A few minutes before she's supposed to be here, she calls to say she's not coming because its raining (though its not raining here, but whatever). They have a pickup truck and don't want the furniture to get ruined. Her husband is refusing to come tonight.

VERY annoying because we spend the last few hours cleaning out the room and emptying the furniture, taking out all the drawers, bringing pieces downstairs, etc to make it as easy as possible for them to move it.

So now I have drawers all over my living room which Ella is going to love climbing when she wakes up...

She said she'd come tomorrow night but that's no good for us. So she was debating tomorrow afternoon, and/or trying to convince her husband to do it tonight. She said she'd call me back. That was almost an hour ago. She hasn't called back.

At what point do I give up on this lady and offer it to someone else? I have a waiting list of people interested...and I really want to get rid of it ASAP since half of it is now scattered around my living room.

I put some of DD's clothes on freecycle...someone responded was supposedly on her way over got "lost" asked me for directions and then never showed. Very annoying...what I did was tell the next person that responded that the clothes were still available. You can do the same thing......if you got more than one response tell the next person that the items are still available. If the original person calls u back just tell her that since she didn't call u back you went to the next in line. It's free stuff people....if you really want it be corteous and pick it up when you say you will

i'd say on to the next person however its already getting dark & you probably won't get anyone else to come tonight anyway. I'd give her until tomorrow night & then start contacting other interested parties.

she just called back - she's coming tomorrow afternoon. If that doesn't work out, I'm moving on to the next person.
