What do you think of this?

I went to the movies last night and saw this ad for the "Dark Knight", the Batman movie featuring Heath Ledger, as the Joker.

Now, I realize every big studio has a job to do, but I felt that it wasn't in good taste as a marketing tool.

What do you think...am being overly sensitive? Just curious.

well that particular poster has been around since last summer---so they put it out way before his death.

i'm not sure if they should retract it now...it can be a little weird seeing that and knowing he's dead. i'm kind of mixed on it.

That poster has been out for a long time and the movie has Heath as, pretty much, the main attraction of the movie. All this was way before his death.

As the summer comes, you're going to see more and more commercials for the movie. I think they were trying to decide how to market the movie now that he has passed. They don't want to make it all about the Joker but he is a big part of the movie.

When it comes to this movie, I'll bet it's going to make a ton of money just because he died and everyone wants to see his last and final role.

I DON'T think they should be making any NEW ads that focus just on Heath's character.

This movie will be HUGE and sadly moreso because of Heath's passing. Knowing the caliber of actor that he was, it will be a great testimony to his art. Nothing will stop the media from the hype when the movie is due to be released. I think it is something that we will just have to accept. I hope that it is successful so that his daughter can at least benefit from residuals and have a comfortable life.
