Burners and Furnances

Can anyone give me an idea of how much that they cost. I know that we will have to replace at a minimum our burner soon, but my attitude is might as well replace the whole 30 year old furnance while we are at it. We have oil if that makes a difference.

They usually start around 5K. Please know that not all are created equal. In the house we just purchased the burner is 9 years old... should be mid-life but it is a "builder's burner" which means the previous owner went as cheap as possible but it is an incredibly efficient system... we've been through over $500 worth of oil in the last 6 weeks and no one is even in the house. Our contractor keeps it as cold as possible (about 60) while working and we go there everynight and turn it down to 50.Chat Icon

Any oil company that puts in the burner for you if you sign a contract with them almost always puts in a builder's burner (bottom of the line=cheap) unless you ask for a specific upgrade.

Weil-McLean is thought by many to be the best in the industry. Yes, it's more expensive but it will burn oil more efficiently and pay for itself in the long run.
My contractor is putting in mine at a discount because he is working on my entire house right now.

I only know his contractor's price for the burner. FM me if you want a ball-park figure.

The oil company was talking to us about some Italian model and then another that began with a U. This is why DH needs to be home when these people come Chat Icon
