Threads?

Can I ask a favor? If we're going to start a thread about animal cruelty can it have a warning and then explaine the situation on the inside of the thread? I love this board and all of the info but some of the thread topics are very disturbing ...Could we please not give so much detail in a thread opening. Reading some of the openings is making me feel sick inside. I don't like to hear about animal cruelty but if I see it and it's pretty much explained in the thread topic I'll read to see what punishment they get, but even that is to much....I guess the kitten story is just really hard to hear and the 800 dogs TIA and please no flames..it's just a request

Re: Threads?

I have to be honest- I don't see where you are coming from. OK- I can see where the kitten story title is upsetting- but I am Chat Icon about how the "800 animals seized" title is causing an issue.

I would think just seeing "Animal Cruelty" in a title is going to be just as upsetting.

Sorry- but at what level does one need to censor him/herself to please the masses?

No flames here- JMO.

Re: Threads?

I agree with you but on the same hand I come on here for advice and to see pics. I'm just noticing more threads that are starting out with uncomfortable titles. 800 dogs isn't a good example but the kitten is and there have been others. I just wish we could choose to read the animal cruelty stories instead of seeing them up front.

I agree.....It makes me sick to think about any of it. And when they do put a story on the news about animal cruelty I change the channel. I can't stand to watch it at all. I can read some things but articles when there is no justice makes me even more upset. It's just a question/suggestion to each his/her own but I thought I would ask

I understand where you are coming from. I can't stand hearing about animal cruelty. If I see a topic that even suggests it I just don't open it. I also change the channels when news stories come on. I can't even watch the pedigree commercials or emergency vets because they upset me.

I do the same thing!

I do agree with the OP about not writing the disturbing details on the topic.

Re: Threads?

I think all she is say as the title should read

Warning - sensitive topic
or some type of warning about it.

I know I don't like to open threads that go into to much detail about animals being abused or having pictures posted.

I think that knowing that I was warned ahead of time, will let me know I might or might not want to go into the thread to read it
