Re: Bronx Zoo
I went to the zoo in July after not being there for at least 10 years - I love the Skyfari - I wouldn't miss it, given a choice!

Re: Bronx Zoo
I love the zoo. I'll leave somewhat close by (I used to live walking distance away!)
I never do the skyfari--it freaks me out. I rarely do the monorail. I like to go early in the season,b/c it's cooler & less crowded.
I highly recommend the Congo, which is extra, but seems to be open. There are a lot of things you don't see if you skip that, but the monorail depends. Sometimes the animals are out & about when you go by, sometimes not.
I wouldn't let this deter you from going. There is so much to do as it is. I assume you are going with the kids, so I'm not sure you'd make it through everything anyway.
Also, if this applies to you, there are some places you can't bring a stroller (like the Congo). It doesn't say that on the website, I don't think. You can leave them outside, if that doesn't bother you--just be prepared. Or, you can rent theirs, if you don't want to leave yours unattended.

Re: Bronx Zoo
Monorail is the only way you can see the elephants. So that is a big plus for me.

Yikes... leaving my stroller does bug me. I was going to bring the maclaren umbrella. I guess the Bronx isn't like Disney where everyone leaves their strollers unattended and they are still there when you return

Re: Bronx Zoo
they actually hold the strollers for you. There is a place that will hold them & they give you a # or something. Totally safe.

Cool. I didn't know that. I was goignto say though, that it wasn't like leaving them out on the street inteh Bronx. There is a stroller parkign area--I didn't know it was like a coat check though.
Last time I was there with a baby we all skipped the Congo, and someone stayed outside with her when we went inside one of building exhibits.
