Anyone live in Malvern?
We are thinking of buying a house there (with in the next 2 years) just wanted to know how people who live there feel about the area.

Re: Anyone live in Malvern?
You may want to post on Home, its gets a lot more traffic on home and town issues.
Its a really cute town, but the Malverne school district is not that great. There are parts of the town where the school district is valley Stream and its much better.

Re: Anyone live in Malvern?
my inlaws live there! its a beautiful small town. The school district is good and bad. it depends on what side of town u live on. taxes are high but u get your own police and sanitation. also u cant park on the streets after 3 am or else u get ticketed or towed. My IL's say love it.

Re: Anyone live in Malvern?
I grew up in Malverne. It was - and I believe still is -- a lovely, safe, clean town. Mom sold the house in 1998 -- too big to keep up for herself, and taxes on our property were over 14K/year.
Malverne HS is not great (I went to private school, but 4 of my 5 brothers & sister went to Malverne and went on to great careers so...).
I got married at OLL (first time aound). Now..I will say it is a bit cliquey....most of my classmates were pretty snobby. When we all moved on to private HS, they were even snobbier than the Garden City girls, lol.
FM me if you would like more info.,..... I am perhaps too honest and don't want to p-i-s-s anyone off here, lol.

Hey, Garden City girls!!!!! My DH grew up in Garden City and I resent that. lol.
All joking aside, Kara is right on the money. My SIL and family lives there and it is a very cute town. But the above is some things to consider. We were actually thinking of looking there ourselves at some point.
