ANother post about the price of bags--Articles in The Post

Is anyone following the NY Post this week? They had 3 days featuring handbags. Each day was devoted to a different end of the price spectrum and included photos of bags with prices. Day 1: High End
Day 2: mid range
Day 3: bargain

Well, the high end bags were something like $6,000 or so. The cheaper end of the mid range bags was a bag for $545 but they went into the 1,000s. DH has the paper with the bargain ones for me but I have not looked yet. He said that those bags were about $250 or so.

Is it me or are these really the prices that you would expect to pay for what you consider high end, mid range or bargain? What would you expect from an article in the NY Post claiming to be about bargain bags? A bargain bag to me is under $100. I told my DH no wonder I carry Vera Bradley bags. He was so sweet. He said,"you carry Vera Bradley because you like them and you like the patterns and it's not all about price to you." True, but I also carry Vera Bradley because I can buy several just for one season without breaking the bank and b/c I can throw them in the wash. A nice sized Vera bag is about $70.

I think it is hard to find a good quality real leather bag for under $100. That being said I don't think you have to spend $500+ to get a "good" bag.

I think those ranges seem about right in my work environment.

BUT, for ME, thier high-mid is like my high. Thier low-mid is like my mid and their bargain is the same as my bargain. For my mom, my mid is her high. So it all depends on you and your lifestyle.

In my world high end is Coach.

I'm not a bag person though.

I dunno, to me a bargain bag might not be the best quality, so I figured that bargain would be less than $100. Also, this is the NY Post. It's not a high end fashion magazine. How many post readers are spending on what they considered to be the mid range and high end? In their defense, some of their so called bargain bags were very nice and I would treat myself to one but I would not say I got a bargain at those prices.
