Hair dye for those with JHS
So I'll admitt it.. I have gone grey
It's not everywhere, but it's enough that I need to dye my hair. I basically just dye it back to my original color to cover the grey. In the past 4 months I'd say, it's gotten BAD.. all around my hair line, and along my part. I get it dyed at the salon, but it's simply not holding!! I had it done March 1st (yes a week and 3 days ago) and already the grey is coming through!!!!
My colorist uses a permanent around my hairline, and a semi-permanent everywhere else. She says she doesn't want me to become a slave to dying it and constantly having to re-do my roots. Also, the semi-permanent leaves it with a nicer shine. Here's my thing... Not only is the grey showing where she uses the semi-permanent, it's showing were she used the permanent!!
Here's my issue... I REFUSE to pay a salon to dye my hair every 2 weeks! Is this even normal procedure for people who've gone grey?
Sorry that was a pretty long drawn out rant ending in one simple question...
If I need to redo it so often, I'd like to do it myself at home, but what kind of boxed hair dye do I buy for hair that's been japanese straightened

I have used L'Oreal's Color Spa. no ammonia or anything. It works beautifully.

Re: Hair dye for those with JHS
I have not tried anything on my hair at home. But I do have the salon do single process, I only pay like $50 for dye, cut, and blow.
I can't see anything you use at home any harsher than what they use in the salon.

Re: Hair dye for those with JHS
Brooke I use whatever is on sale at CVS and I have JHS. I do it every 6 months or so. I think my favorite is Garnier - it's permanent. If you are getting grayer quicker, I think you should use the permanent.
