Not that it affected me at all, but........
do you think the strike ended partially due to the fact that no one wants to be standing outside picketing for the holidays?

i think it ended cuz the union realized that nothing would get done over the holiday and they would be subjected to heavy fines

I think it was because the exec board was facing the possibility of getting thrown in jail.

I saw one political reporter on Channel 7 say that he felt that since so many people are off historically the week between christmas and new year's, the union knew that continuing the strike beyond christmas would not really be as disruptive as it was this week.

I think that the TWU would have lost public support (or the support of those who were supporting them) if they continued the strike over the holidays.

i think it ended because the transit workers only had enough money to pay for 3 days worth of fines. If not they would have had to sell their building.
