I went once for 4 days. There was some family stuff going on, I visited a friend. It was nice, but I did miss him a lot.

Re: Going away without dh

Yes. I coach softball and often go away for a week every year. He stays home.

I will also go away for a weekend to a girlfriends house and dh doesn't always go.

Re: Going away without dh

I will away at the end of the month for about 3 days without DH. I'm apprehensive- we havent been apart since college when we still lived with our parents over the summer breaks.

Yup. Sometimes I go to my parent's house for the weekend. I've also gone to my best friend's in VA for a few days without him.

I've gone away without him plenty of times. I am going again this Saturday for 4 days!

We miss each other but our reunions are always sweet. And he appreciates me even more after having hotdogs, mac and cheese and pizza for a few days in a row.

Re: Going away without dh

I find it fascinating that if I don't go out for awhile, my husband will nag me and give me a hard time about it and "giving him some space", yet if I do go out for even a couple hours, he will call my phone like 2 or 3 times to "check in" and say "how much he misses me" LOL.

Re: Going away without dh

When we were still dating, I went away for a week with the girls to Acapulco. It was great!

I also used to go away 2 - 3 weekends a year for a convention of the youth group I used to volunteer for. I don't volunteer with them anymore, but if I did I would still go.

He went to Ireland with his hockey league for a week too ...

And when my cousin who lives in DC had a baby, I went down with my family for the Bris. DH could not get away from work at the time.

yes, we both have. Our parents both live in other places so sometimes we go out there on our own when the other can't come.
